Trendy nail designs aren't enough to bring a youthful appearance to your hands.  In fact, they can make hands that are already dry and rough look even older.  Our hands are quick to show signs of aging because the skin is thin and constantly exposed to the sun.  What can we do to help turn back the hands of time?

Exfoliate.  Remove the top layer of skin to reveal smoother and more youthful skin underneath.  African black soap is an excellent choice as well as lemon, sugar, and honey scrubs.  Facial scrubs can also be used on the hands.

Moisturize.  Be sure to use a daily moisturizer with sunscreen to help prevent age spots.  Pure shea butter helps prevent dryness and contains a natural sunscreen.

Wear gloves.  Protect your hands while doing dishes, gardening, or while engaging in any activity where hands are exposed to drying agents.
